Happy 2022!

I hope you've entered this new year with a renewed sense of optimism, creativity and compassion.

As I reflect on this past year, I see clearly now that being surrounded by art, artists and people who value both, has strengthened these characteristics in me. And, as someone who shares this view, thank you for being a valued friend of the gallery. I'm excited to give you an update on what is in store for the coming year.

We've continued to evolve and refine the mission and the atmosphere of our "charming" space on Warren since opening in 2019. Since then, we've worked to become a destination to discover emerging and mid-career artists whose work is exciting and brilliant, and accessibly priced. We've fostered an intimate, immersive atmosphere that allows the artists' voice to be fully and engagingly expressed as you walk through the doors. It's an easy and informal space that we feel fosters connection and conversation about how art can enrich our homes and our lives.

For 2022, D’Arcy Simpson Art Works is thrilled to collaborate with nine extraordinary Hudson Valley artists. Each artist will have new work on view year-round in the gallery (and on our website) and we'll have rotating solo take-over shows opening each 2econd Saturday during Hudson's late night Gallery Crawl* We've included a piece of each artist's work below so you can start to get to know them. Please have a look below and keep an eye out as we add work to our website.

Thank you again for your support, encouragement and passion for art. I look forward to seeing you this year! May your 2022 be filled with optimism, creativity and compassion.

Ellen

* I'm proud to be part of the team that created and manages the 2nd Saturday Hudson Gallery Crawl. This has become a wonderful event since its inception last June. Working with the 25 galleries in Hudson and staying open late one night each month has enlivened the art community in the region. Support from the City of Hudson and partnerships with Olana, Thomas Cole House, Art Omi and Hudson Hall, the local ski areas as well as the other businesses in Hudson will help us continue to grow this initiative across 2022.
