Established in 2018, D’Arcy Simpson Art Works started as a project between Ellen D’Arcy Simpson and Michael Simpson, to create a space to make and show their artwork, exhibit the work of fellow Hudson Valley Artists and Artisans and to invite the members of the local community and visitors to Hudson to see, consider and collect art in a welcoming, accessible setting.

Since opening, the gallery has established a unique platform for some of the Hudson Valley’s most inspiring emerging talent. In the traditionally exclusive art world, D’Arcy Simpson Art Works is quickly becoming a key player in a world where art doesn’t have to be experienced in an elitist, sterile and often silent white-walled room. We look to encourage and help introduce clients to works of art based purely on how passionate we are about them. The gallery has helped to introduce a variety of art collectors to important contemporary artists through immersive and inclusive events.

Our focus is on emerging to established Hudson Valley-based artists. Each artist is provided with individualized attention, strong promotional support and a transformable gallery space to make their own. The gallery also works to build community in support of local art and artists through the development of initiatives including the annual Art Works Senior Award to Hudson High School art students, the Hudson Second Saturday Gallery Crawl, and a variety of public and activist art projects.
